Connecting the Thermostat to the Internet

Access Point

If you are looking to connect your thermostat to the internet via Wi-Fi Boosters or extenders, then access point mode would be beneficial for you. This is also the case if you are having problems connecting to your router via WPS mode.

Please note that you will require a Laptop, mobile or tablet to connect your device. If you are using a mobile phone or tablet, please ensure that your data is switched off before proceeding.

The following video will show you how to connect via Access Point.

Steps

  1. If you previously tried a WPS connection, and your Relay Module middle light is still flashing green, reset the unit as described in the help at the bottom of this page.
  2. Please start at the Relay Module, press the middle button once, all 3 lights will flash green
  3. Now press, and hold the middle button for 5 seconds. All 3 lights will turn amber.
  4. You will now need to search for the `Inspire` open network, please search for this by looking for an open Wi-Fi network from your device.
  5. Shortly a new open Wi-Fi network will appear, e.g. Inspire-1234, please note that the numbers will be unique to your relay. Connect to this Wi-Fi network from the device you are viewing this web page on. (Ignore any ‘no Internet’ warnings that might be shown)
  6. Wait 30 seconds, then click this link to select your WiFi network (opens in a new Window).
  7. You will now be able to see list of available connections. Select your router or booster, enter your password, then click 'Add'
  8. After approximately 1 minute, the middle light will be solid green, and the Thermostat will show the correct time. Your Relay Module should now be connected to your new router. Return to your account page
  9. If the middle button on your Relay Module shows any other colour apart from Green then please view ‘Relay Lights’ to find out what status your Relay Module is in.
If you have a 3 Channel version (no pairing button on the Relay Module) then please replace Step 2 & 3 with the following:

2. Press and hold the two outside buttons on the Relay Module for 5 seconds, this will make all 3 lights flash green.

3. Then press and hold the two outside buttons for another 5 seconds, now all 3 lights will be solid amber.
